Box Office Assistant (Casual)
Salary: £10.90 per hour
Hours: Casual ‘zero hours’ contract. The post holder will be asked to work evenings and weekends
Newcastle Theatre Royal Trust are seeking to appoint a casual Box Office Assistant.
The successful applicant will be reporting to the Box Office Management Team and will be responsible for actively selling and promoting performances and products in a well informed and appropriate way, ensuring that the ticketing requirements of the Trust’s customers are met with the highest possible level of care, attention and courtesy.
Person Specification
Essential skills and knowledge required;
- The ability to process sales within a computerised sales system
- Knowledge of good customer care practice and able to deliver excellent customer service by dealing with a diverse range of customers
- An excellent telephone manner
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- The ability to work under pressure maintaining accuracy in work
- IT literate (Microsoft Office)
- Evidence of a flexible, motivated and proactive approach
Desirable skills
- An interest in the Arts
- Previous retail skills and experience
- Understanding of telesales
- Experience of cash handling
- Basic numerical skills
Please note that this is a casual “zero hours” contract therefore there are no minimum contracted hours and there is no obligation on the Theatre to offer work to you, or obligation on you to accept such work as is offered
