Can a group of actors successfully stage a Shakespearean play in a day?

Shakespeare’s Speakeasy is the place for you to find out. Taking an irreverent and entertaining view of the Bard’s work, this one night only production promises you an hilarious take on one of Bill’s best known plays: in this case, Hamlet.

Devised by local theatre maker Steven Wallace, the show will be rehearsed, teched, dressed and performed in 36 hours. Lines have been learnt, but no one knows who is playing whom until the starter pistol is fired and rehearsals get underway.

Shakespeare’s Speakeasy hopes to capture the energy of early Elizabethan performances and has proved to be a hit with audiences and actors alike.
