Students from the Eve Trew School of Dance and Gateshead Children’s Arts and Theatre School (CATS) return to the Theatre Royal for another charity showcase.
Established in 1957 in Gateshead, this dance school was set up by Miss Eve Trew to teach ballet. In more recent years, the school has increased in size and has been joined by teachers of different dance genres.

A well-known and much-loved figure in Gateshead, Miss Trew was awarded her MBE in 2010 for services to dance and the Arts in the North-East. Recently she also received the Gateshead lifetime achievement award for outstanding services to the local community.

This show was originally planned for November 2020 to celebrate Eve’s 80th birthday but was unable to go ahead due to the pandemic. As the dance and theatre school have now been handed over to her daughter Natalie, the show will be a celebration of all things new.

The show will include dance and theatre students ranging in age from 3 to 80 years. Please note the youngest dancers will not be performing in the 6pm show.

The proceeds of the shows will be given to NECCR and other local charities.
