Due to the prevailing circumstances of lockdown and social distancing our 2020 AGM has been postponed until further notice. We are hopeful that we can organise this in the not too distant future when it is safe to do so.

Inside View

You have tickets for the show but do you want to know what really goes on behind the scenes? If so then come along to our Inside View events for an exclusive opportunity to take part in a Q&A session with a member of the visiting company.

Tea and coffee is served from 10.30am, which provides a lovely opportunity to socialise in a friendly, relaxing atmosphere with friends, fellow theatre goers and the Friends of the Theatre Royal Committee. This also provides a chance to buy a winning raffle ticket with all contributions helping towards the running costs of the Theatre. Our guest arrives at 11am ready for the talk so ensure to take your seat and be prepared to take a journey into the life story of our guest.

Anyone who has been to previous Inside Views can tell you that it is almost impossible to leave the Theatre without a smile on your face as the morning is full of interesting and wonderful stories (the majority of which will probably make you laugh!). The Inside View events for the coming months are expected to be even better, with something for everyone, with guests from dramas to musicals, you can guarantee that our wonderful host Pam Clarke will uncover some of the untold truths and unexpected revelations.

Recent guests have included Shirley Anne Field (A Judgement in Stone), Lesley Joseph (Young Frankenstein), Dame Sian Phillips, Derek Griffiths and Teddy Kempner (Driving Miss Daisy) and Ria Jones (Sunset Boulevard). Due to popularity it is advised to book your ticket in advance at the Box Office but tickets can also be purchased on the morning. The Inside View events are not just restricted to Friends of the Theatre; you are more than welcome to bring along a guest (or two) as all income goes towards the running of Friends’ events and helps raise funds for the Theatre Royal. We hope to see you at some of our upcoming events.

Sat 8 Aug 2020 – The Addams Family
Sat 12 Sep 2020 – The Drifter’s Girl
Sat 3 Oct 2020 – The Book of Mormon

Tickets are priced at £3.00 for Friends of the Theatre Royal and £3.50 for guests.

Theatre Royal Friends’ events organised by the Friends Committee are fundraising events; the aim of these events is to raise funds to support the activities of Newcastle Theatre Royal Trust and its users.

Please note that the Theatre Royal acts only as a ticket agent for these events and any queries should be made directly to the Friends Committee by emailing paula.mitchell@theatreroyal.co.uk

The Inside View coffee morning can be booked in advance online, through our Box Office on 08448 11 21 21, or on the door. (Calls are charged at 7p a minute plus your phone company’s access charge, calls from mobiles may vary, please contact your operator for details.)
