As the largest theatre in Newcastle, we bring the very best West End, national, and international productions to the North East. Ticket sales cover only part of our operating costs. Your Patron support helps bridge the funding gap, allowing us to secure exceptional shows, invest in new work, and ensure that Newcastle remains a key destination on the UK’s cultural map.
Engaging and enriching our communities
Our communities are facing challenges, with one in four wards locally among the most deprived in the country¹. We believe access to the arts should be a right, not a privilege. Each year, our Creative Engagement programme works with around 10,000 local people, supporting personal growth, wellbeing, and skills development through performing arts activities.
Your support ensures that creativity and opportunity are open to all, from schoolchildren and youth groups to aspiring artists and community organisations.
Preserving a cultural landmark
Our beautiful Grade I listed building requires ongoing care to preserve its historic features and ensure it remains a vibrant, welcoming space. Unlike many venues, we receive no regular government funding for maintenance. Your patronage directly supports the conservation of this iconic theatre for future generations.

Terms and Conditions
*T&C’s Discount available on Superseats and price bands 1 – 4 only (exceptions apply). Occasionally there may be shows where the ticket discount will be less than 20% for Friends Plus or not apply at all. 20% off drinks for Friends Plus excludes champagne and promotional offers. Where applicable, credit notes and ticket exchange can be applied up to 24 hours before the performance. Priority booking dates are announced in print within our seasonal brochures, which are released twice a year. For productions that go on sale outside of these brochure periods, priority booking windows and new show announcements will be communicated digitally via email and/or social media. Occasionally there may be shows which don’t have programmes or programmes are not made available to the theatre for pre-sale. Tickets in premium donor seating areas are available to all eligible Patrons and Corporate Members on a first come, first served basis, subject to availability. Any unallocated tickets will be released for public sale four weeks prior to the performance date. Patron concierge ticket booking service is available Mon – Fri 10am – 4pm. Patron tours must be booked in advance and are subject to theatre activity schedules. Patron bubbles (Prosecco) and hot drinks (if applicable) are subject to two drinks per order and available in theatre bars only. Tickets in premium donor seating areas* are available to all eligible Patrons and Corporate Members on a first come, first served basis, subject to availability. *Excludes Amateur productions and one night shows.
