Cancellation of performances:
 
We would like to reassure our customers that we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The advice from Government is that theatres should close and accordingly Newcastle Theatre Royal is cancelling a number of performances.

All customers who have tickets for a cancelled performance will be contacted with an offer of a full refund or credit note. As we do not store card details at the point of purchase, all refund requests need to be processed over the phone. Our Box Office team are working tirelessly to contact customers as soon as possible but please be advised that it may take a number of weeks until you receive a call. In order to help us speed up this process, if possible, please log in to your account via our website and check we have an up-to-date daytime phone number for you.

Please note, our Box Office is open for outgoing calls only at present. Online booking is still available for many performances. You can contact us via email at boxoffice@theatreroyal.co.uk and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Please note, we will only be able to respond to urgent enquiries.

We appreciate this is a testing and anxious time for many people, including us, but we ask that you please bear with us as we do our best.

We will continue to monitor the Covid-19 pandemic and the effect it will have on our upcoming schedule of performances. Please check this page regularly for further updates over the coming weeks.

Update

We have contacted all customers regarding the cancellation and/or rescheduling of the following performances. If you have not received an email (please check your junk mail folder) or letter, please email boxoffice@theatreroyal.co.uk and include your contact telephone number. Once you have indictated your refund preference from the outlined options our Box Office team will call you to process this, which may take a number of weeks. For customers who booked tickets online, we may be able to process your refund without calling you, if this is the case you will receive confirmation via email.

The following performances are also cancelled and we are working to reschedule as many as possible. We will contact ticket holders with more information in the coming weeks; at least a week in advance of the performance date.

Update - 23 April:

We are working hard to contact all customers who are awaiting refunds as quickly as possible. We are aware some customers have been waiting for a few weeks and we are extremely grateful for your patience.

We are also working hard to contact customers who have tickets for upcoming performances with more details regarding cancellations. We are trying to reschedule as many performances as possible so you don’t miss out on the excellent shows we had planned; depending on our progress with this, not all show cancellations will necessarily be announced and processed in chronological order. Please rest assured that we will contact you in due course.
