City Hall Bar Staff  
 
We require fun, enthusiastic, confident people to join our friendly Bar Team. Must be prepared to work weekends and within a faced paced environment.
  
Salary:            £8.15 per hour
Hours:            Casual role – no minimum contracted hours. Flexibility necessary, weekend and evening work, occasionally at short notice.                      

 
City Hall Bar Staff will be responsible to the Bar Manager and will provide the best possible levels of customer service for patrons in a friendly and efficient manner.
 
Essential skills and knowledge required;
The post holder should: -
Possess exceptional customer service skills and be capable of delivering this
Have experience working in a hospitality role
Be of smart appearance and have a pleasant demeanor
Have a calm courteous and helpful manner
Possess basic mathematical and cash handling skills
Be a natural team player with a “can do” approach and flexible attitude
Enjoy working with people, particularly Trust patrons
Be able to work weekends 
 
This is a casual “zero hours” contract therefore there are no minimum contracted hours and there is no obligation on the Trust to offer work to you, or obligation on you to accept such work as is offered.

Stage Door Keeper (Casual Zero Hours Contract)

Salary:        £7.83 per hour
Hours:        Casual role – no minimum contracted hours (must be able to work regularly 
                    including weekends and evenings – 5 hour shifts, either 8-13.00, 13.00-18.00 or 18.00 – 23.00)

 
The successful applicant will ensure visitors and staff at the Theatre Royal Stage Door are met with the highest possible levels of care, attention and courtesy, and provide effective Stage Door security and services.
Person Specification
The post holder should:
Be personable and presentable
Be committed to customer care
Have a friendly and helpful manner in person and on the phone
Possess tact, discretion, honesty and diplomacy
Have basic IT skills and be computer literate
Be able to communicate with people at all levels

Assistant Maintenance Engineer
The Trust invites applications for an organised, confident, friendly Assistant Maintenance Engineer.
 
Salary: £21,719.88 per annum (fully qualified / completed apprenticeship)
             £19,833.84 per annum (qualification / apprenticeship not yet completed)
Hours:  39 hours (rota basis 5 day working week Mon – Sat, as detailed in job description)
 
Purpose of the Post
Assist the Maintenance Engineer in the effective maintenance of Newcastle Theatre Royal Trust buildings, ensuring they are maintained to a high standard and the buildings function safely, efficiently and effectively, commensurate with their listed building status and the expectations of the public and performers.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
  • Completion of formal apprenticeship in either electrical, plumbing, joinery or mechanical disciplines
  • Candidates in the final stages of apprenticeship will be considered (remuneration restrictions and deadlines for completion will be applicable)
  • Experience of mechanical / electrical fault finding / diagnosis approaches in building management
  • General knowledge and experience in plumbing, drainage, decorating, joinery and general maintenance best practice
  • Process analysis skills
  • Experience of assessing and reporting safety hazards associated with the buildings and equipment
  • Experience of managing contractors and understanding of effective SLA’s and regimes
  • Experience of delivering compliance inspections regimes and safety procedures
  • Understanding of current Health and Safety legislation including but not limited to LOLER, WEE, Asbestos, Water Hygiene, Electrical, Fire Regulatory Reform Act
  • Computer literacy skills (Microsoft packages, facilities management systems)
  • Excellent standard of both written and spoken English with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people in a confident, professional and friendly manner
  • An organised, flexible approach to day to day responsibilities with the ability to work well under pressure, prioritise workloads and with a focus on problem-solving
  • Health and Safety qualification or the willingness to work towards achieving the qualification.
