Newcastle Theatre Royal Trust invites applications for
Dressers to work at the Theatre Royal and City Hall
Salary:            £7.20 per hour
Hours:            Casual role – no minimum contracted hours. Flexibility necessary, weekend and evening work, occasionally at short notice

Newcastle Theatre Royal Trust is an independent charity that runs Newcastle Theatre Royal and, from April 2016, Newcastle City Hall.  The 2016 winner of the Most Welcoming Theatre, North East award, we are committed to giving the highest quality of welcome and of service to everyone, on-stage and off.
Members of the dressers team are responsible to the Stage Manager and Deputy Stage Managers, working with the Stage department to ensure a first class wardrobe service is delivered across all aspects of the Theatre Royal or City Hall’s work
Essential skills and knowledge required;
Extremely flexible to meet the needs of the touring companies and able to work at short notice, with infrequent and irregular shifts
Willing to work unsociable hours and on occasion through the night to meet ‘get in’ deadlines
Excellent time keeping and a reliable worker
Natural team player, putting the needs of the Theatre Royal and City Hall first
Health and Safety conscious
Pays attention to detail and can work quickly to manage wardrobe changeovers in time to production schedules
Able to work closely with actors and respect their personal privacy and meet their wardrobe needs
Willing to carry out laundry activities and able to care for wardrobe pieces with an attentive and careful approach
A passion for theatre or concert halls and some understanding of how a presenting theatre or concert hall operates
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with different visiting company crews
Discreet and respectful of confidential theatrical operations 
Please note that this is a casual “zero hours” contract therefore there are no minimum contracted hours and there is no obligation on the Trust to offer work to you, or obligation on you to accept such work as is offered.
