Marketing Officer - Insight and Research  

Newcastle Theatre Royal Trust is an independent charity that runs Newcastle Theatre Royal and, from April 2016, Newcastle City Hall. The Trust invites applications for an experienced, enthusiastic Marketing Officer – Research and Design to join their Marketing Team. This is a newly created role and a fantastic opportunity to work with a friendly, dynamic, driven team within an iconic venue.  
Salary:   £14,882.40 (£29,020.68 FTE)
Hours:  20 hours per week (2.5 days as detailed in job description)

Purpose of the Post
The Marketing Officer – Insight and Research is responsible for helping the business better understand its data, activity impact, customers, sales and opportunities for growth, helping to develop marketing activity to ensure effective and successful promotion and sales activities across the Theatre Royal and City Hall, in order to increase its profitability and its impact in the community.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Knowledge and experience in a Marketing-based role
  • Experience of contributing to, and the monitoring of, the delivery of marketing campaigns and strategy
  • Experience of working with CRM systems
  • Experience of working with databases
  • Ability to utilise CRM systems to explore and analyse customer data
  • A working knowledge of data protection practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Educated to at least 2 x A-level standard
  • Two years’ experience in a marketing role
  • Evidence of a flexible, motivated and proactive approach 

  • Knowledge of marketing planning and processes
  • Experience with working with Box Office systems including Tessitura
  • Experience in an Arts Marketing role
  • The ability to work unassisted
  • Ability to overcome day to day issues which arise
  • Recognised qualification in Marketing (CIM)
  • A similar role within the arts, ideally in a theatre environment
  • Enthusiasm for Marketing 
  • Enthusiasm for Theatre and Live Entertainment
