Work Experience | Theatre Royal
The Theatre Royal offers a limited number of work placements each season. These are aimed at pupils and students in Years 10-13. You should be studying a performing arts related subject at GCSE, GNVQ, A-Level etc, or have a proven interest in the performing arts.
The week-long placements are designed to give an all round experience of day-to-day life in a busy professional theatre, exploring the range of work that goes on behind the scenes.
In addition you will receive:
Monday 2 July to Friday 6 July. All applications by 27 May.
Monday 10 September to Friday 14 Septenber. All applications by 4 August.

If your application is successful, you will be asked to attend an informal interview at the Theatre Royal.
If your application is unsuccessful, you will be informed by letter.
Any applications received after the stated deadline will not be considered.

The Theatre Royal can only offer work experience placements on the dates stated. If these dates do not suit your requirements, you will need to speak to your school or college and see if they can be flexible with the dates before you apply to us.
Because of the high demand for placements at the Theatre Royal, it is advised that all applicants also seek an alternative work experience placement elsewhere as a back up.
The Theatre Royal will only consider applications submitted using the application form provided.
The Theatre Royal offers placements for under-graduates, graduates and post-graduates. Candidates on placement will work predominantly with the Learning Team.
We will provide you with opportunities to develop your skills within a busy presenting house theatre. During the placement you will be given the responsibility to carry out a research project on behalf of the Theatre Royal Learning Department. These placements are ideal for those interested in working in Theatre Administration, Arts Management and Performing Arts Education.
This placement lasts for 4 weeks, during which you will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. These hours can be negotiated to fit around any current work commitments.
The deadline for applications in 2012 is Fri 22 Jun 2012.
