as part of National Theatre Connections
In the midst of gunfire and explosions, teenage soldiers watch their friend die. To comfort her in her final moments, they recall their journey to become part of the military machinery. They relive coming to terms with stabbing a sandbag, dealing with a fledgling bird’s incursion into their territory and learn to ignore the dark.
