North East Meets West End

Bringing together stars from the national stage with local performers , North East Meets the West End is an evening packed full of song, dance and humour

Hosted by Friends of the Theatre Royal Patron, Richard Briers, this unique performance will showcase West End stalwarts and emerging talent alike. It will feature Graeme Danby (Prokofiev’s The Gambler, Royal Opera House), Clive Carter (Javert in Les Miserables), John Barr (Jesus Christ Superstar, Ragtime), Gary Watson (Sky in Mamma Mia) and Morag McLaren (Phantom of the Opera), together with a vast array of North East talent including Jamie Birkett, Lemington Male Voice Choir, Newcastle Musical Theatre, new Northumbrian Pipes star, 17 year old Richard Cooper and, not forgetting, the Theatre Royal’s very own Panto Dame – Chris Hayward.

With songs from all the biggest musicals, from Les Miserables to The King and I, this is a rare opportunity for audiences in the North East to witness a dazzling range of talent from across the country. An unmissable night for all musical theatre fans.
