The restoration of the Theatre's auditorium was completed in September 2011 and visitors can now learn first-hand what a 19th Century theatre looks like and how we've restored it.

Our one hour tours are educational and fun. Groups go backstage, learn about the Heritage of the Theatre, journey under the stage, seek out the ghost and see where the time capsule is buried!

Subject to permission from visiting companies we aim to take visitors on to the main stage.

COST: £45 for a group of max. 30 children

This in-school provision will develop a performance over a series of sessions. Professional workshop leaders will work with teachers and children to create a play around a chosen theme.

The sessions may take place in school or at the Theatre. The theme and schedule is at the discretion of the school. Past projects have focused on storytelling, literacy and books featured in the National Curriculum.

Teachers and children go behind the scenes of the Panto to see how the magic is brought to the stage. The journey begins on stage with a look at the sets and props before trying on real pantomime costumes.

Afterwards everyone plays drama games and performs their own version of the pantomime in Aladdin's secret den.
