CHANGING FACES EXHIBITION

Opened in February 1837 the Theatre Royal Newcastle remains one of the most historic cultural landmarks in the North East.

Throughout its history this Grade 1 listed Theatre has played host to the biggest names in dance, drama, music and comedy.

Changing Faces was an exhibition which explored the changing face of the Theatre Royal’s historic building from its beginnings right up to the twenty first century.

Photos and text were displayed, illustrating the history of the Theatre Royal Newcastle, along with clothes that people wore in past times. There was even a sweet shop window displaying some of the sweets you might have bought at the Theatre.
