WORK PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR DEGREE AND POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS

YEAR 10 – 13 WORK PLACEMENTS

The Theatre Royal offers a limited number of work placements each season. These are aimed at pupils in Years 10-13 who are either studying drama or a performing arts related subject at GCSE, GNVQ, A-Level etc. or who have a proven interest in the performing arts and are seriously considering a career in the arts/cultural field in the future.

The week-long placements are designed to give an all round experience of day-to-day life in a busy professional theatre, exploring the range of work that goes on behind the scenes.

Participants will gain experience in different departments in the theatre including: Learning, Sales and Marketing, Technical, Booking Office and Front of House. These are subject to the theatre’s overall schedule for the week of the placement.

In addition, on the placement you will receive:
A Tour of the Theatre Royal
An opportunity to see a production on stage, subject to availability
An opportunity to be involved in any additional events/workshops taking place at the Theatre Royal that week.

You will be expected to complete written assignments and evaluate your impressions of the week. Each participant will receive a written assessment at the end of his or her placement.
